Kaftan made with organic cotton from loom, handcrafted by Mexican hands with a ritual that combines elements of nature and craftsmanship: always hands that transform raw materials into objects with life and stories to tell.
What makes this kaftan so special, besides the design, the rich texture of the textile and the history of the hands its been through, is the natural dyes that colors the garment. With ancient techniques, Mexican artisans use pericon and indigo, to make the green tone. Pericon is a native herb from Mexico, that is used to give yellow tones to cotton, and Indigo is also a plant that with the exhaustive dye process, gives the blue tones.
Kaftan de la tierra also has a cotton thread detail on the top, dyed with cochinilla, a parasite of the tuna and nopal that has given cotton the red and pink hues from ages, this antique technique makes our pieces so very special, so they need to be treated with care, respect and love. Tones and shades may vary from one piece to another due to the imperfections that make us, we embrace this: imperfect hands making imperfect objects for your imperfect self, one perfect cycle.
ZAIRVS, a brand for the eccentric, contemporary and free-minded takes this Kaftan from the earth and brings it to you as a manifesto of intuition and deep connections with the universe.
